The un spoilt rural areas of Polis and Latchi that lie on the north west coast of the island are less than an hours drive from Paphos, with its archaeological gems, beaches, harbour and restaurants.
A short drive or bus ride leads you to ‘The Baths of Aphrodite’ a local beauty spot, which according to legend was the place where ‘Aphrodite’ would indulge herself bathing.
To the west you have the natural beauty of the ‘Akamus Peninsula’, which boasts local wildlife, famous for Lara Bay where the Green Turtle nesting beaches can be found. You may even spot a Monk Seal or a dolphin from here, which are now protected by Fisheries Legislation. The area is also excellent for ramblers going inland through the forests or with its selection of, almost deserted, sandy beaches, total relaxation can be found here.
Paphos offers a variety of excellent beaches to explore. The most popular attraction here is the site of the ‘Tombs of the Kings’ containing tombs and chambers from the 3rd century BC to the 3rd century AD. The second most popular attraction are the ‘Paphos Mosaics’ a very impressive collection of intricate and colourful mosaics. There is an abundance of pubs, clubs and restaurants catering to everyone's needs.
